Overview
Staff App
After selling their labor hire business, our client was on the lookout for their next venture. Drawing from their previous experience, they identified several pain points for clients in the industry and conceptualized Staff App.
The opportunity
Staff App is a SaaS-based workforce management application that provides a simple, user-friendly, and cost-effective solution for managing staffing needs. The platform caters to three primary users:
- Super Administrator – Web App: Manages business and user accounts, subscriptions, informative pages, and other dynamic features.
- Business – Web App: Paid subscribers to the platform who can use instant messaging, manage staff registrations, HR, timesheets, rostering, leave and availability, qualification and certification, shift and event scheduling, and staff timesheets review and acceptance. The cost calculator tool is also available to estimate expenses.
- Staff Member – Mobile App: Can access instant messaging, manage timesheets, clock in and out, profile and certification, notifications, leave requests, and the scheduler.

Branding
The client provided a clear brief regarding the logo they had in mind for their application. In response, our designers developed three distinct logo concepts, each with a different style, and presented them to the client for review. This approach allowed the client to evaluate a range of design options and provide feedback on each concept, ultimately leading to the development of a final logo design that met their aspirations.
Subsequently, our design team crafted a comprehensive brand guide, which encompassed imagery, iconography, and font choices. The client contributed their company’s vision, mission, and values to the guide, ensuring that the brand identity truly reflected their ethos.
Prototyping
Following the establishment of the brand identity, our UI/UX design team commenced work on generating preliminary wireframes. These were then refined to create low fidelity prototypes, and subsequently high fidelity prototypes, encompassing all platform users.
Upon presentation of the prototype to the client, their satisfaction was palpable, and we adopted it as the basis for development as the blueprint for development.
Development
Our development journey commenced in August of 2022, and we divided the project into sprints. After obtaining sign-off from our QA team at the end of each sprint, the client paid a visit to our office, and we showcased the application’s progress to gain their approval for proceeding to the subsequent sprint.
Client demonstrations are consistently thrilling, as they offer the first glimpse of the client’s application in action. Witnessing a client’s app concept materialize and being able to navigate and interact with the application elicits unparalleled joy and satisfaction, as evidenced by the smile on the client’s face.

Result
In February 2023, Media Shark successfully completed the first phase of development for the Staff App, delivering three platforms that were visually appealing and user-friendly. These included a mobile application for end-users on iOS and Android, a web application for businesses, and a super administrator platform. We take immense pride in bringing the Staff App to life and are excited to witness its launch into the market in the near future.
Media Shark took the time to get to know the space and communicated extremely well with us.
